Running to Better Teamwork: The Scotiabank Half Marathon
We're still super sore today from our team participation in Vancouver's annual Scotiabank Half Marathon. Even though it was three days ago, our legs are still not happy with us. The event is only one of Vancouver's many marathons, and drew more than 7,000 eager runners to Vancouver's UBC campus last Sunday.
We're a close team, and participating in physically grueling events together has helped to solidify our bond as a team. Team Building exercises drastically increase the trust factor among employees and can help to facilitate workplace friendships.
Especially in businesses where communication among staff members is key, exercises that engage employees will be beneficial in the long run when dilemmas present themselves to members of your staff. We had a blast running, and even though our times didn't break any land-speed records, we're no worse for the ware.
Oh- and for those who are wondering, MAC Underwriting Specialist Dominik St-Denis took home the prize, with an unbelievable time of 1 hour and 53 minutes, literally leaving the rest of us in the dust.
